An elaborate antique French brass fireplace fender and pair of chenets dating to the 19th century, with richly detailed decoration characteristic of the Napoleon III period.
The two upright ends feature striking bearded masks framed by scrolling foliage and rope-twist borders, beneath decorative urn finials surmounted by flames. Fluted architectural supports and hanging ornamental details add further interest, while the lower fender is decorated with pierced scrollwork and smaller flame finials.
The warm golden tones of the brass contrast beautifully with the darker patina accumulated over time, highlighting the depth of the cast decoration. The set retains its iron supports and an adjustable connecting mechanism, allowing the overall width to be extended from approximately 67 cm to 102 cm and secured in position with a screw.
A particularly decorative antique fireplace accessory, this French Napoleon III set would make a striking feature in a traditional fireplace or could be displayed as an architectural decorative piece.

The vintage glass storage jars are exactly as advertised. Excellent customer service! I placed two separate orders several days apart, but they were packed and shipped together. I was quickly reimbursed for overage shipping costs before even requesting a refund! Each jar was very well packed to minimize chance of breakage in transit, and they all arrived undamaged. I will shop here again!
Fantastic! Beautiful! I have been hunting for some Alfred Corneau urns for many years, as most sellers won't send them internationally, as well as at such a reasonable exchange rate. Very happy! : )
