Carefully sourced in France: One of a kind piece

This rare French antique vinaigrier is a beautiful and unusual example of traditional South West French pottery. What makes this piece especially striking is its glaze — a rich, sun-drenched yellow with hints of green on one handle, closely resembling the finish found on antique French confit pots from the same region. The worn surface and irregular patches of slip reveal the raw terracotta beneath, giving the pot a wonderfully rustic texture and authentic patina.

Handcrafted in the 19th century, this glazed terracotta pot was made for storing and dispensing vinegar, it features the classic spigot hole at the base where a wooden tap would have once been inserted.

This earthenware vessel would make a stunning addition to any French farmhouse interior or rustic kitchen display.
