Large French antique pottery cheese strainer, also known as a faisseller, with a rich orange glaze. It is like a French tian bowl in shape, with a stand in the middle for the cheese, which would have drained into the channel below. The glazed earthenware bowl, originating from South West France, also has a lip so the whey can be poured away.
This rustic pottery bowl would make such a beautiful display in the kitchen to add a touch of French countryside charm.
Condition: There are some scuffs to the glaze.
