A decorative French Art Nouveau photo frame dating from the early 20th century, featuring embossed pewter over wood.
The frame is decorated with flowing stylised leaves, berries and curving organic lines typical of the Art Nouveau movement, while the textured background and hand-pinned construction give it a wonderfully sculptural quality. The soft silvery tone of the metal contrasts beautifully with the warm aged wood.
A lovely piece for Art Nouveau interiors, antique collections or eclectic decorative displays.

Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear throughout. There is general wear to the wooden backing, a small split to the rear panel, and the retaining catches on the reverse are slightly loose and may benefit from small supports or chocks to hold a photograph securely.
