A beautifully decorative French antique pedestal bowl in glazed earthenware, likely originating from the Savoy or Alpine region of eastern France. Hand-thrown and hand-decorated, the bowl features warm honey yellow slip decoration over a rich brown glaze with small green motifs around the centre. The elevated pedestal base gives the piece a sculptural presence while retaining its rustic provincial character.
The broad shallow form would originally have suited serving or display, though today it works beautifully styled on a kitchen table, dresser or open shelf filled with citrus, walnuts or seasonal greenery. The hand-painted decoration and visible throwing marks give the bowl a wonderfully authentic folk pottery feel.
The underside reveals the raw terracotta body and traditional wheel-thrown construction associated with regional French earthenware. Likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this is a charming example of French provincial pottery with a strong decorative presence.
A striking piece for collectors of French country interiors, rustic pottery and antique European folk ceramics.

The vintage glass storage jars are exactly as advertised. Excellent customer service! I placed two separate orders several days apart, but they were packed and shipped together. I was quickly reimbursed for overage shipping costs before even requesting a refund! Each jar was very well packed to minimize chance of breakage in transit, and they all arrived undamaged. I will shop here again!
Fantastic! Beautiful! I have been hunting for some Alfred Corneau urns for many years, as most sellers won't send them internationally, as well as at such a reasonable exchange rate. Very happy! : )
