A wonderfully characterful antique French earthenware planter dating from the 19th century, with a rich green glaze to the exterior and a contrasting yellow glaze inside.
Hand-thrown with a tall, gently tapering form, it has a broad flared rim and two substantial loop handles set high on either side. The green glaze varies beautifully across the surface, from brighter emerald tones to deeper olive, with irregular areas of wear revealing the pale earthenware beneath. Around the rim, the green runs naturally into the yellow interior, creating a particularly attractive variation in colour.
The base is pierced with drainage holes, making this a practical as well as decorative antique planter. Its generous proportions and substantial weight give it plenty of presence, whether planted with herbs, flowering plants or greenery, and it would work particularly well in a French country garden, orangery, conservatory or rustic interior.
A striking piece of traditional French glazed pottery, with the wonderfully worn surface and individuality that comes from many years of age and use.

The vintage glass storage jars are exactly as advertised. Excellent customer service! I placed two separate orders several days apart, but they were packed and shipped together. I was quickly reimbursed for overage shipping costs before even requesting a refund! Each jar was very well packed to minimize chance of breakage in transit, and they all arrived undamaged. I will shop here again!
Fantastic! Beautiful! I have been hunting for some Alfred Corneau urns for many years, as most sellers won't send them internationally, as well as at such a reasonable exchange rate. Very happy! : )
