This antique French brass candlestick dates to the late 19th century and features an elaborate architectural design with a square pedestal base resting on four decorative claw feet.
The urn-shaped candle holder is decorated with classical faces, scrolling foliage and intricate relief detailing. Below, the stepped pedestal features fluted borders, shell-like motifs and engraved floral patterns, reflecting the decorative influences of the Napoleon III period and Renaissance Revival style.
The brass has developed a warm golden patina, with darker areas of age-related wear and occasional touches of green oxidation that highlight the intricate decoration.
With its unusual proportions and richly detailed design, this antique candlestick makes a distinctive decorative accent for a mantelpiece, side table or antique-inspired interior.
