A beautiful vintage hand-blown glass drinking set comprising a pitcher and six matching tumblers, made in a delicate pale pink glass with deeper rose-pink swirls flowing irregularly through each piece.
The six cylindrical glasses have wonderfully substantial bases, with the richer pink colour gathering and spiralling through the lower glass before trailing upwards in softer ribbons. Each is individually formed, with subtle variations in shape, colour and thickness alongside the bubbles and inclusions characteristic of traditional hand-blown glass. The result is a set in which no two glasses are quite alike.
The matching pitcher has a rounded, generously proportioned body rising to a narrower neck and softly flared pouring rim. A large clear glass handle has been applied by hand, providing a lovely contrast against the pink body. The swirling movement of the coloured glass is particularly striking across the pitcher, where pale blush tones are interspersed with stronger rose-coloured trails.
The substantial hand-blown construction, irregular bubbling and distinctive rose-coloured glass are reminiscent of the glassmaking tradition of Biot in the South of France. The form and workmanship also bear similarities to pieces produced by Biot-area workshops such as Verrerie du Val de Pôme, although the set is unsigned and we have not been able to establish a maker.
Together, the seven pieces weigh approximately 3 kg, reflecting the unusually substantial quality of the glass. A particularly decorative vintage drinking service for water, cocktails or summer drinks, as appealing displayed together on a table or drinks cabinet as it is for use.

Vintage Hand-Blown Pink Glass Pitcher & Six Tumblers Details:
The vintage glass storage jars are exactly as advertised. Excellent customer service! I placed two separate orders several days apart, but they were packed and shipped together. I was quickly reimbursed for overage shipping costs before even requesting a refund! Each jar was very well packed to minimize chance of breakage in transit, and they all arrived undamaged. I will shop here again!
Fantastic! Beautiful! I have been hunting for some Alfred Corneau urns for many years, as most sellers won't send them internationally, as well as at such a reasonable exchange rate. Very happy! : )
