Pair of Spanish Mid-Century Gilt Metal Wall Lights, 1950s–60s

A striking pair of Spanish mid-century wall lights dating from the 1950s–60s, made from gilt metal with a beautifully antiqued finish.

Each light is formed with a broad fan of individually worked metal leaves rising from a gathered central section, creating a wonderfully sculptural silhouette. Two sweeping arms extend from either side, finishing in flower-shaped candle cups with original-style faux candle sleeves. The hand-worked metal and deliberately mottled gilding give the pair considerable depth and character, with warm gold tones contrasting against darker areas of the finish.

The two lights are designed as a pair and have an impressive presence when displayed together, making them particularly suited to either side of a mirror, painting, doorway or fireplace. Their generous proportions and dramatic radiating form make them decorative pieces in their own right, even when unlit.

The lights retain their existing vintage electrical fittings and wiring. They have not been tested or rewired and should be inspected and installed by a suitably qualified electrician before use.
