This pair of French antique brass andirons or fire dogs date to the 19th century and feature richly detailed decoration characteristic of the Louis XVI revival style. Each andiron is topped with a turned baluster finial and the pierced front plates display an ornate composition of acanthus leaves, scrollwork, and a central oval cartouche framed by laurel branches.
Their shorter backs make them ideal to display on a shelf or mantel, as well as a hearth.
