A beautifully detailed 19th century French antique engraving titled L’Occupation, after a Rococo composition by Sigmund Freudenberger and engraved by Charles-Louis Lingée. The scene depicts an elegant domestic interior with finely dressed figures, typical of late 18th century French decorative engravings and romantic salon scenes.
The monochrome engraving is presented in a later gilt frame with a pale blue mount, which complements the soft tones of the print particularly well. A charming piece for layered French interiors, gallery walls, bedrooms, libraries or studies.
The engraving appears to be a 19th century impression after the original 18th century plate.
A lovely decorative antique with a refined French feel.
