This 19th-century French copper tourtiere is a beautiful example of traditional rural cookware, handcrafted with copper and fitted with its original lid. The wide, shallow form and sturdy loop handles reflect classic French designs used for baking pies, pastries, and slow-cooked dishes over the hearth. The lid sits neatly over the rim, and both pieces show the soft hammer marks and natural patina that come with age and long use.
The copper has developed rich warm tones, complemented by traces of verdigris around the handle joins and seams, and the iron handles are strong and nicely aged, adding to its rustic farmhouse appeal. Perfect for display in a kitchen, on an open shelf, or as part of a copper collection.
Condition: There is wear commensurate with age and use, please refer to the images.
