Beautiful French antique copper water carrier, known as a ferrat and originating from the Auvergne region. This particular example has a hammered copper body and dates to the late 18th century to early 19th century. Once used to carry water or grain, it could now be used as a champagne cooler, or perhaps to hold logs next to a fire.
There is wear commensurate with age and use.
