A beautifully aged antique French mirror from the Napoleon III period, featuring a frame with stepped corners and finely detailed gesso decoration. The giltwood frame showcases a repeating pattern of oval medallions, floral motifs, and textured cross-hatching, classic elements of French decorative arts from period.
This 19th century antique French mirror retains its original mercury glass plate, which shows natural signs of age including foxing and silver loss, adding softness and patina. A discreet pair of initials, “M.J.", can be seen on the glass, likely added by a former owner.
