A lovely antique French earthenware jug with a rounded body, flared neck and distinctive ribbed handle. The exterior features a rich chestnut-brown glaze with reddish tones and natural variations in colour, contrasting with the warm terracotta left exposed around the lower body. Inside, a beautiful honey-yellow glaze is scattered with darker speckles.

Dating from approximately the late 19th to early 20th century, this traditional French pottery jug has a small pouring lip and subtle moulded detailing around the neck. The irregularities in the glaze, including a few decorative drips, give the piece plenty of texture and character.

A wonderful addition to a collection of antique French country pottery, perfect for displaying on kitchen shelves, a rustic table or alongside other earthenware pieces.
