A beautiful piece of French vintage pottery, this ceramic colander bowl features a soft green glaze with warm yellow tones over a pale ground, and a naturally worn rim that reveals the terracotta beneath.
Traditionally used in French kitchens for rinsing fruit, vegetables or cheese preparation, pieces like this were made for everyday use and have developed a rich surface over time. The hand-thrown form, pierced drainage holes and subtle irregularities all reflect its utilitarian origins.
