An early 20th century French wrought iron patio table base, traditionally used on a terrace or in a garden setting.
Handcrafted in solid iron, the circular upper band is supported by four gently scrolled legs joined by a central stretcher, giving stability without heaviness. The proportions make it ideal for a round marble, stone or wooden top, allowing the piece to be completed to suit its new setting.
The iron retains layers of historic paint with areas of natural wear, consistent with outdoor use and age. The legs are securely fixed to the upper band, and the base stands firm and level.
A versatile foundation for a wrought iron patio table, equally at home on a terrace, beneath a covered loggia or within a conservatory. It offers the opportunity to source a locally cut marble or limestone disc, creating a bespoke antique French garden table with original character.
