A beautiful French antique ceramic water jug or dourne from the South West region of France. This softly glazed, sculptural terracotta pot dates to the 19th century.
With its rounded, low body, twin loop handles and pouring spout, this piece was once used for carrying and storing water. The upper glaze contrasts beautifully with the raw, weathered clay below, a practical finish that also adds depth and variation to the surface.
Its generous proportions and soft, worn patina give it a strong presence, whether placed on a side table or deep shelf. A characterful example of rustic French pottery with both history and visual weight.
