An antique French silver-plated punch bowl dating to the 19th century, with elaborate scrolling handles, classical detailing and a beautifully aged finish. Its generous rounded bowl sits on a raised pedestal, with decorative egg-and-dart borders around the rim and foot. The ornate handles feature acanthus leaf decoration and turned central grips, giving the piece a particularly striking silhouette.
The silver plating has worn over time, revealing warm copper tones beneath, especially around the decorative borders, handles and pedestal. The surface has developed a varied patina, with areas of tarnishing, scratches and wear that reflect its age and history. The interior retains a reflective silver-coloured finish.
Traditionally used as a punch bowl or champagne cooler, this substantial piece would make a beautiful centrepiece for a dining table or sideboard. Its generous proportions also make it ideal for decorative arrangements or displaying seasonal greenery.
The underside bears two stamped marks, including a maker's punch featuring a hand motif and a separate mark appearing to read '20ME'. The maker has not been identified.

The vintage glass storage jars are exactly as advertised. Excellent customer service! I placed two separate orders several days apart, but they were packed and shipped together. I was quickly reimbursed for overage shipping costs before even requesting a refund! Each jar was very well packed to minimize chance of breakage in transit, and they all arrived undamaged. I will shop here again!
Fantastic! Beautiful! I have been hunting for some Alfred Corneau urns for many years, as most sellers won't send them internationally, as well as at such a reasonable exchange rate. Very happy! : )
