Large French Antique Faisselle Cheese Strainer 7.5"

Large French antique faisselle cheese strainer, with an orange tone glaze. Used to make cheese, this pottery sieve dates to the late nineteenth century. Both utilitarian and beautifully rustic, it would make a wonderful display on a kitchen shelf. It could equally be used to hold a candle (it would create a gorgeous glow) or to rinse fruit and vegetables.

It is in very good antique condition with some crazing to the glaze.
