A large French antique tian bowl in pale terracotta, finished with a warm yellow glazed interior. Hand-thrown with a wide, gently flared form and a thick rolled rim. This French tian bowl is typical of traditional farmhouse pottery from the South West of France.
The glaze sits richly within the interior, softening to a lighter tone at the rim, where it meets the raw clay. There is visible glaze run and variation along the lip, adding to its character. The exterior remains unglazed, showing a soft, chalky patina developed over time, with subtle marks and surface wear that reflect years of use.
The large scale of this ceramic bowl works beautifully as a centrepiece on a table or kitchen island, or placed on a console filled with seasonal produce or greenery.
A piece that brings a strong sense of French country life into the home.
