A lovely vintage French wooden cutting board with a distinctive flared handle, gently curved shoulders and beautifully worn surface.
Made from a substantial piece of solid wood, this old French chopping board has a broad rectangular shape with an unusual short handle that widens towards the top. The gently sloping shoulders and softly worn edges give it particularly attractive proportions, while the warm golden-brown wood displays lovely variations in grain and colour.
The cutting surface is covered with numerous fine knife marks and scratches, concentrated particularly towards the centre, reflecting many years of use in a French kitchen. Areas of darker patina around the edges contrast with the warmer tones of the naturally aged wood, adding to its rustic character.
Measuring 44 cm in length and 27.5 cm in width, with a substantial thickness of 3.2 cm, this vintage wooden board weighs approximately 2.3 kg. Its distinctive shape makes it an attractive decorative piece, perfect for displaying upright against a kitchen wall, resting on open shelving or arranging alongside antique pottery, copper and other traditional French kitchenware.

The vintage glass storage jars are exactly as advertised. Excellent customer service! I placed two separate orders several days apart, but they were packed and shipped together.
