Antique Wooden Storage Box with Dovetail Joints and Iron Escutcheon 11"

A small antique wooden storage box, believed to date from the late 19th or early 20th century, with traditional dovetail joints, a decorative iron keyhole escutcheon and a warm honey-brown finish.

The box has a rectangular form with a moulded hinged lid, a recessed front panel and exposed dovetail joints at the corners. The dark iron escutcheon provides a lovely contrast against the wood, while the visible joinery and natural grain give the piece plenty of character.

A practical decorative piece, perfect for storing letters, keepsakes or small household items. Its compact proportions make it equally suited to a desk, bookshelf or side table.
