Beautifully formed spelter bust depicting Christ with the crown of thorns. Dating from the late nineteenth century, this piece would originally have been painted in gold, you can still see where some of it remains. This sculpture of Jesus is a heavy, quality piece and originates from the South of France.
It is in very good antique condition. There is a neat hole in the top, towards the back of the head, possibly from when it was made, or perhaps it had been to form a lamp at some point in it’s life.
