Inside, considerably more of the deep green glaze remains, creating a striking contrast with the pale, timeworn exterior.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eProbably originating from South-West France, pots of this type were made as practical household vessels for storing and preserving food. Today, its generous shape and exceptional surface make it a particularly decorative piece, perfect displayed simply on a table or console, or filled with dried flowers or branches.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere is extensive wear and loss to the original glaze, together with surface marks, deposits and irregularities consistent with its age and utilitarian history.
